edit: sed some of my ps skills to change the background color to rgb 245,245,245 but I lost quite a few of the finer details :(

any chance you could help out? that would be overwhelmingly awesome

Open the image in ps. Create a new layer under the image and fill it with rgb 245,245,245. Then select the layer that contains the image and select "multiply" as a blending option.

That should do it.
